Succession Planning in the Construction Industry

This program will cover Options, Challenges and Trends for planning and executing a succession plan.  Including the options for succession planning and potential challenges associated with each option.  It will also address the various balance sheet, cash flow, and tax implications.

 

Learning Objectives
After this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the options available including gifting, internal sale or management buyout, external sale, and ESOP.
  • Understand potential challenges such as tax, cash-flow, and balance sheet impact
  • Discuss recent trends and valuation methods used in the construction industry.

Kelli has a solid understanding of the needs of the nonprofit industry, and continues to be a strong voice for the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire.  She has helped several nonprofits accomplish mergers that have increased the efficiency of mission delivery. In addition to her nonprofit role, Kelli spends much of her time in the construction industry with a focus on general contractors.  Through this work she has developed a strong understanding of contract reporting and key performance indicators for the industry.

 

Matthew J. Nadeau

Matt oversees all phases of audit, accounting, and tax services for his clients.  However, he also focuses his time in developing the business valuation and due diligence services lines of the firm.  He works with closely held businesses in transition. He has experience working with private equity, self-funded and externally funded searchers as well as family entities looking to transition ownership to the next generation. Matt advises both sellers and buyers in determining value, due diligence, working capital and tax strategy. His background working on both attest and tax engagements has allowed him to apply a broader knowledge to transactions that has made him a valuable business advisor.
